The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team in our concrete blocks factory in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in analyzing, tracking, and optimizing our company\'s cost structure and ways to reduce product costs. This position involves working closely with various departments including production and procurement to ensure accurate cost data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support financial decision-making. Main job duties and responsibilities include: Cost Analysis: - Analyze product and service costs to identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements. - Monitor and report on variances between Standard and actual costs. - Develop cost standards for materials and labor and input in our EPR BOM module Cost Tracking: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost accounting records. - Track inventory costs, including raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods. - Review and reconcile production costs, ensuring accuracy and completeness. - Ensure wastage is brought to absolute minimum - Ensure production costs are entered correctly and accurately by the production team in the ERP system Budgeting and Forecasting: - Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. - Provide cost-related input and insights to support budgetary decisions. Cost Reporting: - Generate cost reports and present findings to senior management. - Prepare cost allocation reports for various products, projects, or departments. Process Improvement: - Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures. Requirements
Qualifications: - Graduate with a Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role in a manufacturing company - Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling. - Familiarity with ERP systems preferably with FOCUS ERP - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
