Corrosion Engineer

Job Description

Wood is currently looking for a Corrosion Engineer to join our Asset Integrity Solution Team. This position is based in Abu Dhabi office and will report directly to the Integrity Manager of the Asset Integrity Solutions service line.

Competency and experience in one or more of the following discipline are required.

+ Performing corrosion study and material selection for onshore / offshore upstream / downstream facilities

+ Knowledge and experience in any operator / company-specific code or regulation is an advantage

+ Performing corrosion study for carbon capture, CO2 transport and sequestration

+ Developing corrosion management strategies, including corrosion control and monitoring

+ Performing Corrosion Risk Assessment (CRAS) or Material Corrosion Audit (MCA) for upstream / downstream facilities

+ Corrosion study and material selection study for wells. Exposure to well integrity is an advantage

+ Developing coating-related design deliverables. Experience in Insulation / fire-proofing, coating fabrication / manufacturing, and in-service coating inspection are advantageous

+ Developing specification and datasheet for engineering design study (FEED / DD) stage

+ Developing & performing Corrosion Inhibitor selection and laboratory test programs

+ Experience in code-specific assessment is an advantage

+ Experience in performing Fitness for Purpose (FFP) assessment, remaining life assessment

+ Knowledge and project experience in fracture and fatigue assessment of metallic components is an advantage

+ Cathodic Protection (CP) design for pipeline, structures and facilities

+ Bachelor in engineering or science with a good working knowledge in the oil and gas industry

+ Minimum of 5 years in oil and gas industry

+ Certification from professional association / body is preferable

+ Knowledgeable in corrosion simulation principles and methodology

+ Able to do site visits outside of the office when required

+ Good soft skills; primarily technical writing, presentation skills, communication and collaboration with the Wood global offices

+ Knowledge of international industry standards related to material and corrosion engineering, inspection, NDT methods and techniques
