Education: Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
Compliance to Company Inspection & Corrosion control manual and all HSE and other company policies in line of work.
Carry out assigned Corrosion management activities pertaining to static equipment in Process unit or offsite facility.
Exhibit proficiency in accurate application of codes, standards and procedures pertaining to
Corrosion monitoring, mitigation and material degradation mechanism.
API 571 orNACE certification relevant to corrosion management of static equipment is mandatory.
Support Risk Based Inspection development activities in co-ordination with RBI team pertaining to degradation mechanism, corrosion loop and predicted corrosion rates.
Participate in RBI workshops and provide feedback as required.
Implement and monitor IOWs pertaining to potential corrosion mechanism.
Liase with other functions like Inspection, process, Operations and Maintenance for implementation of recommendations and for activities pertaining to process unit degradation troubleshooting, IOW Implementation etc.
Highlight material degradation related and static equipment integrity issues as per authorized
Channels within company technical authority system and Operational support team meetings as Directed by Corrosion & Metallurgy Team leader.
Ensure compliance to HSECES requirements like schedule compliance, performance standards Verification and documentation.
Ensure Equipment history pertaining to corrosion is maintained and available.
Thorough knowledge and experience in working with Inspection management system on behalf of Client is mandatory.
Ensure routing of corrosion records for review of appropriate technical authority levels defined in Company Inspection management system and ensure completion of review process.
Support Operations and process in activities pertaining to chemical cleaning, Integrity chemical Management, monitoring during plant trial runs and implementation of new / alternate chemicals.
Assess and provide independent feedback ensuring asset integrity. Intervene as required based on Potential degradation scenarios.
Carry out corrosion analytics based on available Inspection and NDT records and maintain current Plant degradation and risk status.
Apply knowledge of unit processes and flow conditions in Monitoring equipment degradation.
Lead Failure analysis and support Root cause analysis activities pertaining to material degradation of Static equipment’s. Support RCA team pertaining to material degradation of components in the
Provide technical advice to Plant Operations Division as required, to ensure compliance with
accepted Company standards.
Draws the attention of the Management concerned to any failure to comply with such standards.
Review all new and modification development work to advice on construction standards, material
selection and testing requirements in line with company and international standards. Consult
Inspection, NDT and QA AC SME as required.
Support project team in review of project corrosion control, corrosion risk assessment, material Selection and corrosion strategy documents. Review and comment on the key project documents
Ensuring compliance to company standards and best practices.
Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe Work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE Requirements.
Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE
Requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the Transgressor
The Corrosion Engineer shall have minimum 7 years’ experience working as a client corrosion Engineer or on behalf of client directly for Operating process unit for Refinery/petrochemical. Good
Understanding of Inspection practices, Process and Corrosion mechanism is mandatory.
Graduation in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent is mandatory.
Good working Knowledge on CMMS and IMS systems are mandatory.
Knowledge on corrosion and process Simulation tools is preferred.
As our ideal candidate, you should have:
Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
At least 07-10 years of refinery experience including 5-6 years in the Corrosion section.
Should have Good experience in the Refinery.
Certification of the API-571 or NACE will be mandatory
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English.
Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.
Outstanding record of academic achievement.
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
Excellent analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
