Role Summary:

This role will report into the Corporate Finance Head - Assurance & COE and will be responsible for providing a

secondary check through internal reviews to test compliance with respect to applicable taxation laws and

regulations in UAE. Key responsibility areas would include being directly responsible in leading the

implementation of the upcoming Direct Tax laws in the UAE for LMH and ensuring compliance to laws post the

implementation phase.

Additional responsibilities would include ensuring internal checks and balances towards compliance to Indirect

Tax laws (VAT) as well as coordinating with external consultants / retainers where required on case to case basis.

Understanding of international taxation under the OECD framework would also be critical as the organization is

also subject to CbCR, ESR and other evolving regulations.

Key Responsibilties:

• Lead the groundwork for the multiple workstreams planned during the implementation phase of the CT regime

based on the terms of engagement agreed with the external tax consultants.

• Work with Group Legal teams to set in place TP agreements for intercompany transactions, royalty agreements,

inter-company loans, etc.

• Review GLs for all concept entities to identify potential problem areas under a CT regime and escalate for

resolution.

• Fine tuning SOPs for the finance Shared Services team (COE) to ensure a standardized approach towards areas

attracting CT laws.

• Develop solutions for optimizing tax liabilities through informed application of tax laws in line with good

governance and extant regulations.

• Work out tax implications on new transactions on a need basis.

• Ensure tax compliance, reporting, and filing of tax returns with an external tax consultant.

• Ensure preparedness for assessment of Tax returns in future years.

• Regularly, engage with the Corporate Tax team and leverage best practices in UAE and across territories operated

under LMH.

• Engage with territory Finance teams, leverage best practices, and drive standardization in common areas.

• Be a single point of contact with the Tax authorities and provide tax audit support for the UAE based entities.

• Review and own the current and deferred tax provisions while ensuring accurate utilization of carried forward

losses within the Tax group.

• Support the LMH shared services for ensuring compliance to applicable compliance under the OECD & BEPS Pillar

frameworks (incl. CbCR, ESR, etc.)

• Support Corporate Head of Finance in review of operational practices for the compliance of applicable Direct and

Indirect taxes in UAE and other territories on a case to case basis.

• Provide tax audit support for all territories in GCC.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience required for the role

Education: Chartered Accountant (ICAI), LLB (Tax)

No. of Years of Experience: 10-12 years

Nature of Experience: Experience of handling Direct tax and /or Indirect tax matters in a Big 4 or Big 8 Audit

Firm, or Tax firm or working in a corporate office profile in industry.

Functional Skills: ? Excellent knowledge of applicable practice of Direct Tax laws,

? Knowledge of indirect taxes will be an added advantage,

? Understanding of developments in international tax agreements under the

framework of OECD,

? Accounting guidelines including IFRS, exposure to an ERP environment

(Oracle or SAP), Excellent skills in MS Office tools, particularly Excel, Word

and Power-point.

assertiveness, comfortable to work in cross functional teams.
