Position Overview
This Corporate Actions Specialist role is responsible for end-to-end processing, monitoring, and management of corporate action events across domestic, regional, and international markets. The position handles mandatory and voluntary corporate actions across diverse asset classes including equities, mutual funds, fixed income, hedge funds, structured funds, and ETFs. The role ensures accurate market data processing, client notifications, entitlement posting, reconciliation, and high-quality service delivery aligned with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, process, and control corporate action events across local, regional, and global markets
  • Handle complex corporate action events including mandatory and voluntary events across multiple product types
  • Receive market announcements, compare and scrub data, and notify clients of corporate action events
  • Reconcile client positions with sub custodians and markets and ensure accurate posting of accruals and entitlements
  • Solicit voluntary event responses from clients and submit final instructions to sub custodians or markets before deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, counterparties, regulators, sub custodians, issuers, brokers, and agents across various markets
  • Support due diligence visits and provide corporate actions process documentation when necessary
  • Adhere to all quality control measures and internal procedures
  • Provide first-level training to new specialists and assist in handling complex inquiries
  • Manage corporate actions for securities lending and borrowing transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Participate in system upgrades, processing enhancements, and after-hours system testing
  • Support implementation of new client SLAs, market rules, new products, and regulatory requirements
  • Track market best practices and ensure alignment with international standards
  • Work with internal departments and external entities on projects aimed at process reengineering and automation
  • Support additional services provided by the department including settlement, reporting, invoicing, reconciliation, proxy services, tax reclaims, cash management, and network support
Ideal Profile
  • Experience in corporate actions processing within a custody, asset servicing, or securities operations environment
  • Strong knowledge of mandatory and voluntary corporate action events across global markets
  • Understanding of multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, and structured products
  • Strong reconciliation, data accuracy, and deadline-driven processing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and multiple market participants
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messages, securities settlement, income processing, and entitlement posting
  • Strong risk awareness with ability to prevent financial, operational, and reputational loss
  • Team-oriented and able to support new specialists and assist with inquiries
  • Ability to adapt to changing market rules, client requirements, and business expansion
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and coordination skills
