Core Banking Specialist - Finastra Equation - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
This role focuses on expert-level management of the Finastra Equation core banking platform, including AS/400 development, API integration, system configuration, reporting, and support for core banking, retail, and payment systems.

Key Responsibilities
Managing all core banking modules within the Finastra Equation platform
Configuring parameters for products, balance sheet structures, and P&L mappings
Supporting Equation modules including End of Day and Lending
Developing and maintaining AS/400 programs (RPGLE, CLLE, SQL400, DB2/400)
Managing data integration modules and developing new APIs
Handling IBM MQ configurations for system integrations
Preparing solution designs and low-level technical documentation
Translating business requirements into functional and technical test plans
Leading testing across retail, core banking, and payment systems
Managing defect triage and implementation follow-up
Maintaining documentation for configurations, testing, and system changes
Supporting BAU tasks and responding to business, operations, and finance requests
Analyzing and developing change requests and deploying vendor fixes
Scope of Work
Clearing unclassified BS and P&L items
Automating ratio reports, cost allocation reports, and manual adjustments
Automating P&L disclosures and financial statements
Customer-level segmentation in finance reports
Historical data analytics under new reporting structures
Maturity analysis and CB regulatory reporting improvements
IIS treatment adjustments
Splitting retail mortgage loan income in P&L
Cash reserve, interest income/expense, fees and commission reporting
Bulk GL closures for inactive branches
GL allocation and mapping assistance
Finance ad-hoc tasks and reporting support
Ideal Profile
8-10 years of Finastra Equation experience
Strong AS/400 technical capability
Experience with API development, IBM MQ, and system integrations
Strong knowledge of core banking operations, retail banking, and payment flows
Ability to handle testing cycles and structured documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
