Assist chefs and cooks in preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and menu specifications.
Measure and portion ingredients accurately for recipes and menu items.
Clean, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as needed.
Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers under the supervision of kitchen staff.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients in designated storage areas.
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Dispose of waste and recyclable materials properly and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Perform other kitchen-related tasks and duties as assigned by kitchen management.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
