Job Description

The Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of Building Management Systems (BMS), Control Panel Modules (CPM), Motor Control Centers (MCC), Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, and Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP). The role supports the operational efficiency of HVAC and other building automation systems, ensuring reliable control and monitoring of equipment across the facility.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance of BMS, CPM, MCC, DDC, and FACP systems.

Conduct system checks, calibration, and logic verification for field devices such as sensors, actuators, relays, and controllers.

Monitor system alarms and parameters, ensuring proper communication between field devices and controllers.

Support in program uploading, downloading, and parameter tuning for BMS/DDC systems.

Troubleshoot HVAC control wiring, control panels, and communication network issues.

Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and fire system teams for integration and fault resolution.

Assist in testing and commissioning new control panels and HVAC control systems. Prepare service and maintenance reports, documenting all performed activities.

Maintain adherence to safety procedures and company quality standards during all site activities.

Accountability

Ensure reliability and uptime of all control systems (BMS, MCC, FACP, etc.).

Maintain accurate documentation of control wiring and system configurations.

Provide timely response to system faults and alarms.

Support continuous improvement of system performance and energy optimization.

Qualification/Technical Skills:

Educational Qualification

: Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related technical field. (or equivalent)

Experience

: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration systems.

Specialized Skills:

Strong knowledge of BMS/DDC architecture, field devices, and control logic. Familiarity with MCC panels, starters, and interlock systems. Basic programming and configuration understanding of control software. Knowledge of Fire Alarm systems (FACP) and integration with HVAC. Ability to read electrical and control wiring diagrams. Analytical and troubleshooting ability with minimal supervision Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
