The Mechanical Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical control systems, including HVAC and pumping systems. The role involves working closely with BMS teams, performing testing and calibration of field devices, and ensuring accurate system integration and functionality.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular inspection and preventive maintenance of mechanical control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair control circuits for HVAC equipment, pumps, fans, actuators, valves, and dampers.
Maintain and calibrate field devices including temperature sensors, pressure transducers, flow meters, and thermostats.
Support BMS team with control point testing, feedback verification, and loop testing.
Install and configure motorized valves, damper actuators, and control panels based on schematics.
Assist with the maintenance of VFDs and starter panels.
Conduct functional testing to ensure control sequence performance.
Document control parameters and equipment status.
Collaborate with electrical, HVAC, and BMS teams for integrated system functionality.
Requirements
Solid understanding of mechanical systems: HVAC, chilled water, pumping, and ventilation
Ability to read control diagrams, wiring schematics, and P&ID drawings
Proficient with multimeter, loop testers, and calibration tools
Experience with Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, or similar BMS interfaces (advantageous)
Knowledge of low voltage control wiring, relays, and signal interlocks
