Job Description

Controls and maintains the production process of the Plant in order to ensure its full availability and highest performances along with best safety practice. Coordinates his subordinates, and maintenance team to ensure safe work conditions.The Control Room Operator will operate the plant using the Distributed Control system in accordance with the O&M Manual, Safety Management System,and terms and conditions of the O&M contract. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure plant performance and reliability in accordance with the O&M contract.
• Ensure sufficient availability of plant chemicals at all times
• Report to Shift In charge and Operations manager and coordinate with other plant employees regarding daily plant operations
• Identify, Analyze and control plant problems promptly to prevent loss in power production
• Ensures the plant availability and its highest performance during his duty shift.
• Log all daily/hourly events and ensure data accuracy particularly during special events, problems or trips.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment,in fault coordinating with the field operator.
• Raise work order and defects as they arise
• Periodically monitor performance of individual equipment for early identification and warning of issues prior to breakdown (pump vibrations and bearing temperatures)
• Ensure overall good shift performance when on duty
• Perform any duties on field if requested
• Work overtime when required and as requested by management within the realms of possibility.
• Train general duty operators about all aspects about control duties
• Proceed with plant tours (in all plant areas) periodically in order to control the whole process and identify any default / derives.
• Control the documents filled by team members and ensure the provided information accuracy.
• Control delivered waste quality and ensured proper detection of unacceptable waste in order to reload it.
• Reports with a clear description of all events in the CMMS program and indicate the criticality level in order to ensure a proper record and transmission to the maintenance department.
• Provides and closes permits to work for the maintenance team as well as subcontractors and checks the area where the work will be conducted in order to identify and eliminate the risks for both employees and equipment. Ensure and follow lock-out / tag-out procedure before signing a permit to work.
• Manage cleaning of the process equipment regularly and as per the defined program.
• Check consumption of products and chemicals and adjusts them when required.
• Checks regularly the combustion process and extracted bottom ash condition.
• Controls continuously the flue gas emissions and ensures fast action in order to stay continuously under the emissions limit values.
• Call the maintenance department for support in case of a critical event requiring immediate action that cannot be solved by the shift.
• Continuously gets information from operators, and crane operators about all production process of the plant.
• Be a contact person with Bee'ah and SEWA.
• Consults and follows all applicable procedures.
• Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety statutory requirements, company QHSE policy and accepted safe work practices and procedures.
• Conduct work activities in a manner that conforms to the quality expectations of the company, does not pose any nuisance or pollution to the environment, danger to your own health and safety and the same of other employees.
• Responsible for full plant operation, safe work condition during shift.
• Adheres to all HSEQ, Finance and Compliance policies and procedures

Skills and Competencies:

• Bachelor degree in a related field

• Minimum 5 year of experience in the same position (Power plant field)
