Job Description

We are looking for a

proactive and skilled Control Room Operator

to join our

Roads Management Centre (RMC)

team. The operator will

monitor traffic patterns

,

manage incidents

, and apply tactical interventions through

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient road operations.

This role contributes directly to

reducing congestion, improving road safety, and enhancing driver experience

across Qatar's road network.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and manage

ITS systems

, traffic signals, CCTV, and dynamic message signs. Monitor traffic conditions, detect congestion, and implement proactive solutions. Manage

road incidents, severe weather events, road closures, and diversions

. Provide

real-time traffic information

and operational support for major events and abnormal/hazardous loads. Liaise with internal teams and external authorities to ensure effective communication. Support

tunnel operations

, road network optimization, and system development. Maintain

data security, system integrity, and adherence to Health & Safety and Quality standards

. Work

24/7 in rotational shifts

to ensure continuous network coverage.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Bachelor's Degree in

Engineering

or related field.

6-8 years' experience

in a roads control room or operating ITS systems. Knowledge of

incident management

and

safety-critical systems

. Experienced in

shift work

and multi-software platforms. Strong

English communication skills (verbal & written)

.

Desirable:

Accreditation from

Institute of Asset Management (IAM)

or similar. Valid

Qatar Driving License

.

Arabic communication skills

.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Experience with

transportation-specific Video Management Systems (VMS)

. Familiarity with

Tunnel Management Systems

or

Road Incident Management Systems

. Strong

analytical, leadership, teamwork, and presentation skills

. Self-motivated, results-driven, and customer-focused with minimal supervision.
