Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive
Contracts Engineer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects of our construction projects -- from tender stage through execution, variation control, claims management, and contract closeout. This role will require collaboration across engineering, procurement, project management, and legal teams to ensure efficient contract execution and compliance with both project requirements and legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage contracts in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and UAE law.
Prepare, review, and interpret contract documents including agreements, correspondence, variations, and notices.
Monitor and control contract performance, identifying risks and deviations early and recommending corrective action.
Support in the preparation and evaluation of claims, extensions of time, and cost variations.
Assist in contract negotiations with subcontractors, vendors, and clients as required.
Participate in tendering processes, reviewing commercial and contractual terms, and drafting contract conditions.
Coordinate with legal, procurement, and technical teams to ensure clarity and consistency in contract terms.
Ensure timely close-out of contracts with proper documentation and final account agreements.
Keep abreast of contractual trends, best practices, and legal updates relevant to the UAE construction sector.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in contracts management within the UAE construction industry.
Good knowledge of FIDIC conditions and local UAE construction contract practices.
Strong understanding of contract law, procurement procedures, and commercial negotiation.
Excellent communication and reporting skills in Arabic.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience with large-scale building or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIArb, PMP) are an added advantage.
