Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Engineer to manage and administer all aspects of contract lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation, administration, and management of contracts across all phases of the project lifecycle. This includes ensuring that contract terms are adhered to, managing risks, supporting the resolution of disputes, and contributing to cost and schedule control. The role supports cross-functional coordination between legal, procurement, project, and finance teams to protect the company's interests and ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer Contracts Throughout the Project Lifecycle:

Participate in drafting and reviewing contract documents before award. Ensure contract terms align with project scope, budget, and risk allocations. Assist in negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Conduct contract kickoff meetings with internal stakeholders. Prepare and distribute contract summaries to relevant departments. Set up systems to track key contract dates, milestones, and deliverables. Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations. Track and manage contract variations, change orders, and amendments. Ensure proper documentation of all contractual correspondence and approvals. Provide guidance to project teams on contractual rights and responsibilities. Issue formal notices (e.g., delays, claims, EOT) in line with contract terms. Identify potential contractual risks and escalate as necessary. Maintain detailed records to support claims or dispute resolution. Assist in resolving disputes or conflicts related to the contract. Support final account reconciliation and contract closeout procedures. Ensure submission of all required closeout documentation (e.g., warranties, as-builts). Conduct lessons learned reviews from a contract management perspective.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline. Additional certification in Contract Law, FIDIC, or Construction Law is a plus. 6-8 years of relevant experience in contract engineering or contract administration, preferably in the construction, infrastructure, or oil & gas sectors. Experience with standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, bespoke forms) is strongly preferred.
