Key Responsibilities
The Internist will be responsible for:
Conducting thorough history-taking, physical examinations, and complete patient assessments.
Diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of adult medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory conditions, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal illnesses, renal disorders, and infectious diseases.
Providing preventive care, routine check-ups, chronic disease management, and lifestyle counseling.
Ordering, interpreting, and integrating laboratory results, ECGs, radiological studies, and advanced diagnostic tests into individualized treatment plans.
Developing and implementing evidence-based management strategies for both acute and chronic illnesses.
Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as clinically indicated.
Coordinating care with other specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.
Managing internal medicine-related emergencies within the scope of practice.
Maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation in compliance with DOH standards and facility policies.
Participating in clinical audits, quality assurance programs, and professional development activities (CME).
Qualifications Required:
Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MBBCh, or equivalent).
Completed residency training in
Internal Medicine
.
Valid
DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) license
or DOH eligibility as Consultant or Specialist.
Board certification or equivalent (Arab Board, American Board, Canadian FRCP, UK MRCP/CCT, Fach Arzt, etc.).
Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic ability, and patient-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in EMR systems.
Consultant-Level Requirements (if applying as Consultant):
Completion of recognized fellowship or advanced board training accepted by DOH.
Minimum 2-5 years
of independent post-board practice (as per DOH criteria).
Proven experience in managing complex and high-risk internal medicine cases.
Preferred Qualifications:
Subspecialty training in areas such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, or Rheumatology.
Experience in hospital or multi-specialty medical center settings.
BLS and ACLS certification.
