Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage Retinopathy of Prematurity and complex neonatal retinal disorders
• Perform advanced ophthalmic procedures including laser photocoagulation, cryotherapy, and intravitreal injections
• Conduct routine retinal screening programs for premature infants within neonatal intensive care units
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize visual outcomes
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols to reduce the risk of long-term visual impairment
• Provide expert guidance on retinal imaging technologies and surgical interventions
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding disease progression, treatment options, and preventive strategies
• Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations
• Stay updated with innovations in pediatric ophthalmology, teleophthalmology, and AI-supported retinal diagnostics

Ideal Profile

• Medical Degree with specialization in Ophthalmology and advanced training in retinal diseases
• Fellowship in Retinopathy of Prematurity or Pediatric Retina
• Valid DOH, DHA, or MOH license or eligibility to obtain UAE licensure
• Minimum five years of experience at consultant level in retinal practice
• Demonstrated expertise in neonatal laser therapy, retinal surgery, and diagnostic imaging
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-risk neonatal cases
• Excellent collaboration skills within multidisciplinary hospital environments
