Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs
  • Develop and implement individualized palliative care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Coordinate and monitor care across hospital, hospice, long-term care, and home care settings
  • Guide patients and families through complex medical decisions, including goals of care and end-of-life planning
  • Educate and train physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare staff on palliative care principles and best practices
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research to advance palliative care services
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation using electronic medical record systems
  • Uphold ethical standards, patient dignity, and compassionate communication at all times
Ideal Profile
  • Medical degree from a recognized and accredited institution
  • Valid American Board certification in Palliative Care; Canadian Board certification acceptable
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Consultant in Palliative Care
  • Strong expertise in pain and symptom management and end-of-life care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Fluency in English
