Position Overview
Allocation Assist Middle East is recruiting an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) for a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi. The position is managed through our Dubai operations and offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a specialized neonatal and pediatric care environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and other retinal diseases in neonatal and pediatric patients.
  • Perform laser therapy, cryotherapy, and intravitreal injections to treat ROP and associated retinal conditions.
  • Conduct systematic retinal screenings for premature infants in neonatal intensive care units.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and ophthalmic surgeons to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment protocols aimed at preventing visual impairment in infants.
  • Advise on surgical cases, imaging advancements, and retinal diagnostic innovations.
  • Educate families on disease prevention, post-procedure care, and follow-up strategies.
  • Participate in research, training, and clinical audits to enhance pediatric ophthalmology practices.
Ideal Profile
  • Medical degree with specialization in Ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Retina or Retinopathy of Prematurity.
  • Valid DHA, DOH, or MOH license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Minimum of five years of consultant-level experience in ophthalmology with focus on retinal disorders.
  • Proficiency in laser photocoagulation, retinal surgery, and advanced imaging diagnostics.
  • Strong communication, counseling, and teamwork skills within neonatal and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with teleophthalmology and AI-assisted retinal screening is an advantage.
