Responsibilities for internal medicine: Greater than 50% of time spent in supervision Evaluate and manage general neurology patients in our ambulatory office Evaluate and manage patients within the subspecialty area of vascular neurology to include hospital work with our stroke center Actively participate in the inpatient neurology service of the practice at Vidant Medical Center Actively participate in departmental and hospital meetings Cooperate with the other neurologists in the care of patients in the region Participate in the teaching programs at the Brody School of Medicine The Hospitalist-Internal Medicine position provides general medical care for hospitalized patients Work closely with the Garnjobst Chair of Medical Education and the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency to provide vision, leadership, organizational skills and teaching supervision for the internal medicine residents and medical students Approximately 50 percent of time will be spent in direct patient care and clinical supervision, 40 percent in academic responsibilities including teaching, evaluation, scholarship and 10 percent administrative duties Qualifications for internal medicine: Completion of medical assistant program Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and an active California Medical License Graduated from an accredited Medical School Graduate from an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program Previous experience in primary care setting preferred Fellow or certification from the American College of Physicians (ACP)
