About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Burns to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. This role involves providing advanced surgical care for patients with severe burns, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes through reconstructive and critical care interventions. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex burn surgeries, including:
- Skin grafting and tissue reconstruction
- Debridement and wound management
- Microsurgical techniques for severe burns
- Post-burn scar revision and functional restoration
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, including plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and critical care specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Ensure strict adherence to patient safety protocols, infection control measures, and surgical best practices.
- Conduct clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education programs within the burns surgery department.
- Provide long-term rehabilitation strategies for burn patients, including physiotherapy and psychological support.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Board certification in General Surgery or Burns Surgery
- Fellowship training in Burns and Reconstructive Surgery
- Expertise in skin grafting, microsurgery, and critical burn care
- Strong understanding of wound healing, infection control, and reconstructive techniques
- Excellent communication and decision-making
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environment
