Position Overview
Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Acute Care Surgery for a premier healthcare institution in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The position will be coordinated through our Dubai operations. The successful candidate will manage complex emergency and elective surgical cases, provide leadership in trauma and acute care surgery, and contribute to advancing surgical excellence through education, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert surgical care for acute and emergency general surgical conditions, including trauma, abdominal emergencies, and elective cases.
• Perform advanced laparoscopic and open procedures such as hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, bowel resections, and laparotomies.
• Lead the acute surgical response team and actively participate in trauma resuscitation and surgical management.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, critical care, radiology, and anesthesia departments to provide integrated multidisciplinary care.
• Supervise, mentor, and train residents, fellows, and junior surgeons.
• Participate in surgical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and continuous medical education (CME) programs.
• Ensure full compliance with SCFHS regulations, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.
• Contribute to departmental planning, clinical governance, and on-call scheduling.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution.
• Board certification in General Surgery (Saudi Board, Arab Board, American, Canadian, or European equivalent).
• Fellowship or significant experience in Acute Care or Trauma Surgery preferred.
• Valid Consultant classification or eligibility with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Minimum 4-5 years of post-board consultant experience in acute and emergency surgical care.
• Proficiency in both open and laparoscopic techniques.
• Strong leadership, crisis management, and decision-making abilities.
• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
