Cardiologist Duties and Responsibilities

\xe2\x97\x8f Treat patients by reviewing and understanding their medical backgrounds and examining them to assess their current condition and health

\xe2\x97\x8f Look at and employ ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of heart-related problems

\xe2\x97\x8f Carry out tests such as echocardiograms and interpret test results to measure how effectively the heart is working, which will help you to decide on the best method of treatment

\xe2\x97\x8f Perform specialist procedures, such as cardiac catheterisation, to help diagnose and guide treatment of a variety of heart conditions

\xe2\x97\x8f Carry out a range of advanced interventional or surgical cardiac procedures, such as coronary artery bypass surgery, stenting of coronary angioplasty

\xe2\x97\x8f Prescribe medication to patients to help treat a range of cardiac illnesses

\xe2\x97\x8f Provide ongoing support and advice to patients under long-term care

\xe2\x97\x8f Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with colleagues

\xe2\x97\x8f Provide support and advice to colleagues working in other specialities

Requirements:

Cardiologist Requirements and Qualifications

\xe2\x97\x8f Bachelor\'s degree and Specialization certificate

\xe2\x97\x8f Completion of clinical residency in cardiology

\xe2\x97\x8f Current medical license to practice

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time

\xe2\x97\x8f Excellent attention to detail

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work closely with a team of medical professionals

\xe2\x97\x8f Good interpersonal and communication skills
