Worley is currently recruiting for a Construction Superintendent to join our team in Ruwais, UAE

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the Site construction team from mobilization to completion of construction activities in accordance with the Project specifications, the approved plans and procedures, the applicable codes, standards and the Contract
  • Manage day to day Construction related issues with the EPC Contractor, leveraging the other disciplines on the Site Team as required.
  • Monitor and assist with the planning and execution of transportation, construction, hookup, and mechanical completion activities by the EPC Contractor.
  • Single point of contact between the EPC Contractors' Site Construction Management.
  • Report progress, performance, initiatives, and issues to the Construction Manager
  • Steward safety performance and champion on-site safety awareness and safe performance with the EPC Contractor and Site Team members
  • Work with the Site Planner to validate Contractor provided progress for progress payments and milestone payments for invoicing purposes.
  • Coordinate input to and review development of Contractor's detailed Engineering, Procurement, schedule, and execution plans and their impact on the Construction execution.
  • Ensure constructability is addressed in the EPC Contractor's Engineering and planning
  • Monitor and appraise the Contractor's performance for safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to resolve Construction related Site issue.
  • Utilize best practices and lessons learned in administering the execution of the work, including interpretations to contract specifications as required
  • Review and validate change requests and change assessments in accordance with the Management of Change plan
  • Ensure the EPC Contractor is implementing and maintaining the approved Interface Management Plans, the Issues Management Plan, SIMOPS Plan, and Management of Change Plan.
  • Assist in breaking down barriers to the safe and efficient execution of the Construction.
  • Ensure Mechanical Completion activities are planned to facilitate the planned sequence of Systems Completion activities by system and subsystem.
  • Identify, nominate and actively participate in Site HSE and performance incentives and recognition.
  • Mentor UAE Nationals in construction execution and management
Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):
  • Reports to the Construction Manager.
  • Direct interface with the other discipline area Site Team Leads.
  • Direst interface with the EPC Contractor's Construction Team.
  • Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
  • Responsible to make independent decisions when warranted to ensure job requirements are met.
  • Approval authority over the EPC Contractor's plans, procedures and method statements.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience on the Site of major capital oil & gas facility construction projects. Preferably refinery or petchem plant
  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with ability to lead a multi-disciplined Project Team that includes personnel from a diversity of cultures.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and language skills.
  • Fluent in English language
  • Excellent interface skills.
  • Must be willing to work and live in a site accommodation
