Job Description

Copper and Gold project in Wilayat of Yanqul in Ad Dhahirah governorate with an area of about 370 sq.km. It is 260 km far from Muscat and 140 km from Suhar. The project consists of five copper and gold mines, a processing plant, a camp, and all associated infrastructure.

We are looking for a deadline-driven Construction Superintendent to oversee our construction project and to act as the link between various project parties. The construction superintendent will lead and manage the onsite construction team and oversee all work on site. The construction superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations, ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are always available on-site.

quality. Top candidates will be strong leaders, proactive, and perform well under pressure.

Job Duties: 1. Leading and managing the on-site construction team and all aspects of the execution of the work.

2. Plan construction processes and set performance goals and deadlines.

3. Implement safety and quality guidelines.

4. Provide leadership and championing the "Zero Accidents" philosophy.

5. Ensures a Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.

Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.

6. Ensure all contractors comply with all regulations related to the Safety, Health, and Environmental

Policy in the execution of their duties and the necessary rectification, improvement, or compliance

are done timely upon request.

7. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and housekeeping inspections to ensure regulatory, site and

environmental standards are being followed.

8. Oversee and ensure QA/QC standards are met at all stages of construction in accordance with the

approved plan.

9. Manage and oversee all civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and Instrumentation works for

the projects from construction to commissioning.

10. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.

11. Coordinate and support consultants, contractors, inspectors, and vendors to develop and execute

project plans.

12. Define the layout and locations of all temporary facilities throughout the job site.

13. Work includes the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces,and working in small or confined spaces.

14. Must be able to use appropriate standard issued personal protective equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.

15. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

16. Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities.

17. Keep track of equipment and materials.

18. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts, organize meetings, and cooperate with team members in various roles as necessary.

19. Maintain detailed progress reports of construction activities and report project performance to management and stakeholders.

20. Participate in project meetings to monitor and support project progress.

21. Supervise the daily work plan activities for all construction projects by liaison with all related stakeholders, including but not limited to consultants, contractors, vendors, etc.

22. Ensure all construction drawings with the latest revisions are approved, issued to the construction team and contractors are notified and to work in accordance with the latest revised drawings.

23. Compile progress reports on pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for all scopes of work, including but not limited to monitoring all pre-commissioning checks, progress of any remedial defects' liability work, release of retention monies, etc.

24. Facilitate the compilation of full data packs with maintenance manuals (maintenance program if applicable) for al Infrastructure.

25. Ensure the As-Built construction drawings obtained from consultants and contractors are updated.

26. Assist in verification of all contractor's invoices, claims for extension of time or additional payment

requests, and submit to Project Manager for final approval.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.

Professional certification in Construction Management or similar field.

Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

15+ years of related multidiscipline and management experience within a construction environment.

8+ years of experience as a construction superintendent in the mining industry.

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining construction projects.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrated experience in construction of mineral processing facilities.

Expertise in quality, safety, and health standards and guidelines for construction job sites.

Expertise to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.

Must have knowledge and understanding of the formation and administration of construction contracts.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

Ability to plan, coordinate, organize and manage a team at an advanced level.

Expertise on progress assessment and measurement and construction control strategies.

Ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders involved in the project.

Ability to handle complex problem-solving tasks, applying appropriate analysis and

consideration of high-level technical detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to write reports and professional correspondence with internal and external parties.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.

Be articulate, accurate and exhibit a very high attention to details.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

Must have knowledge and understanding of all phases of construction operations at the job site.
