Overview / Responsibilities: Wood is currently looking for a Construction Manager to join our team in Dubai, UAE.
Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) whilst opportunities are being fully determined.

  • Provide construction input to estimates as and when required
  • With discipline reports - Review design documents and provide constructability input to designs
  • Assist & guide with the production of sequenced Activity data, Test and Inspection Matrices and compile workpacks which detail all construction activities.
  • Manage all aspects of work-pack formulation \xe2\x80\x93 this for \xe2\x80\x98timely\xe2\x80\x99 issue of each scope as detailed in the project schedules.
  • Support the ongoing \xe2\x80\x98In-Country\xe2\x80\x99 activities with regular Interface contact \xe2\x80\x93 this for Construction & Engineering activities.
  • Pomote HSE & safety awareness to all reports, coordinate for site detail feedback on same.
  • Undertake visits to In country facilities/sites to review designs and liaise with Construction Supervisors and Lead Field Engineers.
  • Identify any Specialist Vendor Support, Tools and Equipment required to implement scope.
  • Liaising with study team lead discipline engineers on developing solutions on FEED Studies
  • Interface with the required site surveys and generation of reports where required.
  • Advise on the area of construction / operational section of FEED report.
  • Assist with construction input to Bid preparation.
  • Development of Construction CTRs for Bid estimates.
  • Interface & Interact strongly with the Procurement & Supply chain divisions, on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide construction input to estimates as and when required
  • Manage the various constructability reviews & readiness documnetation as required.
  • Responsible for continual \xe2\x80\x98timely\xe2\x80\x99 deliverable of all Engineering & Construction Work-packs as required to be produced for each work order containing installation scopes.
  • Interface on daily basis with the assigned Project Engineers throughout the progress of project drawing deliverables. (Advise on areas where improvement or cost cutting can possibly be achieved.
  • Oversee the Test and Inspection Matrices and compile Workpacks which detail all construction activities.
  • Undertake visits to In Country locations as required.
  • Coordinate with Wood supervisors & Client representation.
  • Advise & support on work scopes in general.
  • Manage any welfare issues that may arise.
  • Man mange his/her reports so as to maintain good working relationship, in a fair but strongly committed manner.
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum 20 years Oil and Gas experience with 5 years in a similary role
  • Hold a degree in discipline engineering or Diploma
  • Heavy Field Construction experience essential with 10-15 years experience in the Oil and Gas industries
  • High level working knowledge of construction activities in relation to the relevant Civils, Piping and Mechanical disciplines
  • Very strong background and involvement on major projects (complex) in the Oil and Gas industries
  • Must have held previous positions to match this requirement
  • Must have strong \xe2\x80\x98Co-ordination\xe2\x80\x99 experience across various disciplines
  • Strong leadership qualities required
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within multi-cultural workforces and environments
