POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Construction Manager within our Project Management Consultancy, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising construction projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Manages all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of a medium to large size project. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation. Incumbent must become thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected. In addition to construction management and supervision, the incumbent is also responsible for field administration, procurement, and field engineering. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.

As a Landscape Construction Manager, you will lead all on-site field construction activities for landscape projects. Your role will emphasize the importance of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) expertise in ensuring the successful execution of landscape projects. You\'ll apply your comprehensive knowledge of landscape construction disciplines and PMC methodologies to oversee the installation of green spaces, gardens, streetscape, street furniture, and artistic sculptures. Familiarity with contractual obligations and technical aspects specific to landscape projects is crucial. Flexibility to relocate to project sites is expected.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing:

The Construction Manager will work on behalf of Parsons and the client with responsibilities including:

Acts as the representative of Parsons with the Client / Employer, Construction Supervision Consultants, Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers during the project execution. Represents the client in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings.

Oversees establishment of the Construction Management Plan, Site Specific Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

Inspection \xe2\x80\x93 The selected candidate will have experience in and will be expected to supervise Engineers on assigned projects.

Works to devise and executes action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work; advises the Client/Employer and company management of any such changes.

Responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders.

Cost Engineering - Supervise the preparation of the Client\'s Monthly Construction Progress Report and the Client\'s Contract Status report.

Prepares WBS, budgets and forecasts.

Prepares monthly safety self-assessment.

Accounting - Supervises development of the monthly Parsons invoices; review for accuracy.

Prepares quarterly construction management reports and coordinates meetings.

Quality - Establishes the QA/QC Plan including development of the inspection & test plan.

Supervises setup and accreditation of the onsite materials testing laboratory.

Safety - Establishes safety and emergency procedures. Inspects the construction site weekly with the contractor\'s safety representative.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule, in collaboration with clients and project stakeholders.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and provide financial reports to clients, ensuring projects stay on track financially.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, proactively addressing challenges that may arise during construction.

Team Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives.

Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring all work meets specifications and adheres to industry regulations.

Schedule Management: Create and manage project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting timelines as necessary to meet deadlines.

Reporting: Regularly update clients and stakeholders on project status, providing progress reports and financial summaries.

Issue Resolution: Address and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and change orders promptly to keep the project on course.

Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.

Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations on the construction site, fostering a safe working environment.

Change Management: Handle changes in project scope, schedule, or budget, ensuring proper documentation and minimizing disruptions.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, permits, and correspondence.

Client Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and expectations.

Sustainability: Promote and implement sustainable construction practices where feasible, considering environmental impact.

Project Closeout: Oversee project closeout activities, including inspections, punch lists, and final documentation to ensure a seamless transition to the client.

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project performance and processes, seeking opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring full compliance.

What Required Skills You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring:

To succeed as a Landscape Construction Manager with PMC emphasis, you should possess:

A Bachelor\'s degree in Landscaping/Agriculture or Civil Engineering or construction-related field, aligning with the landscape industry.

15+ years of construction management experience with a strong focus on landscape projects.

A minimum of 5 years of experience working on projects in the UAE, demonstrating local knowledge.

Proven expertise in overseeing and managing landscape construction for major projects.

In-depth understanding of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) responsibilities in the context of landscape projects.
