We connect, educate, and provide actionable insights across specialty commercial sectors.And we do this through scale trade exhibitions as well as innovative digital market access services for B2B suppliers and buyers.Now, by leveraging our unique first party market data, we have embarked upon an ambitious programme to expand the way that we assist these communities in uniquely powerful ways.Conference Director Informa Markets Reports to: Group DirectorDirect reports: YesThe Role The Conference Director is responsible for the creation, development and management of the production of industry relevant conference programmes and activities as well as developing and growing the Energy content led products and website across the portfolio ensuring the events are cutting edge, on topic and in line with the vision and goals of the Energy division and its individual events. You are also responsible for the managing the conference producers and editors within the division. Job Summary/Responsibilities Construct detailed programmes with high level expert speakers produced on time and to budget as per the production planning schedule.Conduct detailed market research to target delegate growth and increase content quality and relevance.Conduct on-site feedback with exhibitors, speakers and delegates and feedback to the Senior Management Team as part of the post show analysis.Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams in order to recommend commercial sponsorship opportunities/leads and assist with writing/distributing promotional materials as well as social/digital media engagement and updates.Support and mentor Conference Producers and other direct reports.KPI's Delegate attendance and revenue.Sponsorship revenue.Timely delivery and quality of conference programmes.Strategy development and deliveryMain Duties & Responsibilities: Conference Production Oversee and produce high level, energy driven and industry relevant conference programmes in a timely fashion.Project management of conferences and other content programmes taking place across the Energy portfolio.Liaise and work with key professionals, institutions and companies in the production of conference programmes.Engage with potential speakers and confirm their attendance.Ensure the speaker database is updated to provide current and accurate speaker lists and files for event management to follow up.Prepare, oversee and lead the creative briefs and meetings for the Marketing team.Prepare, oversee and lead the telesales briefs and meetings plus set up follow up meetings to track progress.Create data briefs and job title profiling for each Energy ConferenceAssist in the provision of leads to the sponsorship team and attend sales meetings as appropriate.Conduct (alongside marketing) a post-show analysis of the event including thorough job title analysis.Market Research and Industry Networks Effectively research topics with relevant industry professionals and the target market with a solid conclusion of the validation process.Map out a concise competitive landscape per conference, per Energy event.Develop new conference ideas and programme content through meetings and tele-research with key experts.Collaborate with the Group Director, Exhibition Director and other team members to generate ideas for enhancing the conference portfolio.Identify key opinion leaders/institutions and companies within related to the event.Maintain existing and build new relationships develop a conference with topics and speakers.Look at additional add-ons and other ways of attracting more delegates and content into the events i.e. workshops, talk, business hubs, partnering with associations etc.Develop content marketing tailored to the goals of each of the conference programmes and other content-led Energy productsIdentify new companies and products.Full knowledge of competitive events.Speaker & Delegate development Consistently build a comprehensive network of go to industry experts including conference chairs,Liaise and network with speakers, exhibitors and delegates on-site, in order to maintain customer service standards, ensuring your products remain relevant and on topicAssist with onsite duties as required for the duration of the event, which may require longer working hoursProject management/commerciality Develop growth strategies and strategic plan for the Energy portfolio.Manage and mentor the conference production team and any direct reports.Devise new conference/ show content led features that can incorporated into the existing products or standalone events that support and expand the brand.Visit competitive shows (regional and international) to gain further knowledge in the field as well as to meet new potential speakers, delegates and sponsoring companies.Engage relevant associations and societies for support.Alongside marketing, create, develop and monitor the email campaigns.Monitor and manage the conference budgets.QualificationsSkills required Educated to degree level or equivalent.Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Essential Minimum 5 years' experience in conference production.Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.Commercial awareness.Research based role.Copywriting/marketing skills.Brand and market awareness.Desirable Related industry/event knowledge.Spoken and written Arabic.Additional InformationWe know that sometimes the 'perfect candidate' doesn't exist, and that people can be put off applying for a job if they don't fit all the requirements.
