Located on beach front and with a view of the Hajjar Mountains, InterContinental Muscat is a five-star resort in the heart of the city's residential, government and diplomatic quarter. The hotel's Palm Beach Club offers two floodlit tennis courts, a 25-metre olympic size pool, a leisure pool, a fully equipped fitness center, sauna, jacuzzi and easy access to the beach. Your day to day Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Food and Beverage and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group policies and procedures, manages the procurement and delivery of conference and meeting. Promotes the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos. • Prepares, manages and achieve the department’s budget. Duties include: • Prepares and manages a cost effective budget with measurable targets for department within the financial parameters set down by the hotel budget • Effectively monitors and analyses variations from the budget • Develops systems that measure the cost effectiveness of the department • Develops procedures that tract, report on and control the running costs of the department • Contributes to the overall strategic plan of the business and help compile the annual hotel business plan • Keep abreast of trends in your area and implement best practice initiatives • Develops a competitive business plan for your operational area and communicate this to your operational colleagues and staff • Maintains a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversee their implementation • Ensures training needs analysis of your departmental staff is carried out and training programs are designed and implemented to meet needs • Delivers training • Actively works at developing your direct reports and identify high potentials • Maintains training records for all direct reports and ensure they do the same for their staff • Conducts probation and formal performance appraisal in line with company guidelines • Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance • Approves leave requests after considering peaks and troughs in the business • Regularly communicates with staff to maintain positive relationships



What we need from you • Preferably a graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management • Should have at least 3 years experience as a Assistant Banquet Manager and 2 years as Banquet Manager in 4-5 star hotel • Should have excellent knowledge in all aspects of beverages including alcohol • Should be fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing). Arabic is an advantage • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office • Good knowledge of micros operating systems • Good skills in customer service
