Job Description

Perform fresh concrete testing (e.g., sampling, slump test, temperature, making and curing specimens for strength tests, fresh concrete density and air content, and slump flow of self-compacting concrete), basic hardened concrete testing (e.g., compressive strength), and other quality control tests, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ASTM, ACI).

Conduct concrete sampling and acceptance testing at the site.

Negotiate with customers, contractors, and consultants if any issues arise at the site during casting.

Support quality assurance through adherence to concrete checkpoint procedures.

Assist lab technicians in testing raw materials such as aggregates, sand, and cement, verifying their quality for use in concrete production.

Help lab technicians ensure that all laboratory equipment is regularly calibrated and functioning properly, maintaining accuracy in testing procedures.

Report issues to the Head of Department.

Follow all safety protocols in the laboratory and production environment, ensuring that testing procedures are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.

Support the Lab Engineer in the development and testing of new concrete mix designs and trial mixes, contributing to quality improvements and production efficiency.

Collect concrete samples from production sites, batching plants, or construction sites, ensuring proper sample handling and timely testing.

Assist in identifying and resolving any issues with concrete mixes that may affect quality, working closely with production teams to implement corrective actions.

Communicate with the contractor about concrete protection and preventing cracking.

Coordinate with mixer drivers and pump operators to finish casting without issues such as pump blockage, concrete rejection, and spillage.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ASTM C94, DMS 026, etc.).

Collaborate with teams to execute plant inspections, calibrate batching plants, and sample materials.

Assist with lab operations, including equipment maintenance, lab and plant trials, batching plant calibration, and aggregate testing.

Adhere to the cleaning procedure for used equipment and workspace as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
