About American Baccalaureate School: ABS is a private, non-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens. It is our goal to develop responsible and accountable young adults who are prepared for the challenges of international universities. The American Baccalaureate School opened its doors in September 2006 to 550 students. We now have over 1,300 students enrolled from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Primary Purpose: An outstanding computer teacher should demonstrate flexibility and support as you help students to develop confidence in their computer skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught
- Make sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning
- Generate enthusiasm for the subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their potential
- Liaise with the Head of Department and learning support where a student may have special educational needs and with the form tutor and Head of House if a student is experiencing pastoral difficulties
- Promote high standards of behavior by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students
- Set homework according to policy and pertinent to the student’s ability and wider workload
- Promote high standards of the organization
- Be punctual to lessons
- Promote high standards in the use of English as the common language and help develop English for academic progress
- Provide high quality, accurate, constructive, and targeted information to parents at Parents' Evenings, in subject reports, incidental meetings and communications
- Assess, record, and monitor the progress of all students according to faculty guidelines in order to provide accurate information to parents in a variety of forms, as and when necessary
- Maintain materials and resources as needed
- Attending parent-teacher and faculty conferences.
- Observing and managing classroom dynamics.
- Planning lessons and activities that facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline.
- Teaching certification for the level at which you will be instructing.
- Prior experience as a computer teacher.
- Excellent presentation abilities.
- Strong written and administrative skills.
- Nurturing, adaptable approach to instructing.
- Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.
- Attention to detail
- Great presentation and communication skills
- Crisis management
- Problem-solving skills to enhance teacher performance and improve student grades
