Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Composite Engineer with hands-on experience in SolidWorks and Rhino to join our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development of composite components and structures, ensuring optimal performance, strength, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and model composite parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and Rhino
Develop detailed 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, and layouts for manufacturing and prototyping
Perform structural analysis and simulation of composite materials and assemblies
Select appropriate composite materials, layup schedules, and manufacturing techniques
Collaborate with production, tooling, and quality teams to ensure seamless design-to-manufacture transition
Review and refine designs based on performance data, testing, and feedback
Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, BOMs, and design reports
Ensure compliance with industry standards and project-specific requirements
Participate in R&D projects and contribute to process improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
2-5 years of experience working with composite materials and structures
Proficiency in SolidWorks and Rhino 3D for modeling, surfacing, and drafting
Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes (e.g., hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, resin infusion, pre-preg)
Familiarity with FEA tools and techniques for composite analysis is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in aerospace, marine, or automotive composite applications
Knowledge of CAM software, CNC machining, or mold design
Understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and production documentation
