Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Compliance Officer

to lead and oversee McCoin's compliance framework in line with the

Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA)

requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory alignment across all operations, supporting licensing efforts, and maintaining a strong internal compliance culture.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the appointed Compliance Officer for McCoin with VARA and other regulatory bodies. Develop, implement, and monitor McCoin's compliance policies, procedures, and controls. Lead the regulatory licensing process and maintain ongoing compliance with VARA frameworks. Oversee KYC/KYT processes and work with third-party providers (e.g., Hextrust, ZandBank, Crystal..etc). Conduct risk assessments, compliance audits, and ensure AML/CTF obligations are met. Monitor and report suspicious activities as per UAE and international standards. Collaborate with legal, product, and executive teams to ensure compliance is embedded across departments. Prepare regular reports to senior management and regulators. Stay updated on global regulatory trends and recommend improvements.

Requirements

Minimum 4-6 years'(UAE) experience in compliance or legal roles within financial services, fintech, or virtual assets. In-depth knowledge of UAE's regulatory framework, especially VARA and ADGM/DFSA (is a must). Prior experience liaising with regulators or managing regulatory submissions. Solid understanding of AML, KYC/KYT, CTF, and risk management frameworks. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master's or certifications preferred). Certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or Certified Cryptocurrency Compliance Specialist (3CS) are highly desirable.
