One of our leading Construction industry clients in the UAE is looking for Compliance Officer who is Well-versed in legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. High ethical standards and work diligently to complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business. You must be comfortable saying \xe2\x80\x9cno\xe2\x80\x9d when necessary and be result-oriented. The goal is to preserve the company\xe2\x80\x99s integrity by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
Define all stakeholders & functional compliance requirements, plan and ensure execution by the relevant departments / functions
Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
Draft, modify and implement company policies
Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
Assess the business\xe2\x80\x99s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
Monitors all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management platform to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards.
Manages information flow by researching, recording and analysing data and information.
Conduct compliance risk assessments, to ensure business runs smoothly.
Trains and educates staff so that they are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines.
Acts as contact person and liaison between department heads and senior management regarding regulatory matters.
Conducts regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the regulations and law.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you need to meet the following criteria:
Degree in Law or Paralegal.
3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as Compliance personnel in a non-banking industry.
Analytical thinking and ability
Strong communication skills
Legal and moral integrity
Strategic thinking
Good command of English & Arabic
Location - Abu Dhabi, UAE.
