What's the role?

This position is for a field-based Wells Supervisor to manage, assure and execute completion and intervention operations safely and efficiently.

Accountabilities

Responsible for planning, logistics, supervision, assurance and documentation of the execution of well work activities. Will work closely with the CWI engineers and operations staff to make well work decisions/recommendations including selection and optimization of completion type; well intervention units; techniques/materials; fracture treatments; plugback methods, perforating methods, cleanout methods, management of pressure differentials between zones, and management of project risks.

Responsible for ensuring HSSE is integrated in the procedure and execution of wells operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles. Lead Front Line safety leadership and the delivery of annual safety goals and action plans.

Ensure all operations are executed in compliance with company procedures, manuals, policies and guidelines.

Ensure Wells Process Safety principles are implemented, identifying and ensuring compliance to Front Line Barrier Management.

Work closely with the Asset team to make well work decisions/recommendations including selection and optimization of services, materials, fluid systems, operational techniques, operational efficiencies, cost tracking, and management of project risks. Provide input on well programs, including details around HSSE, well control, equipment, contractors, etc.

Track well costs and job timing during execution, including differentiating trouble costs/time from expected costs/time.

Drive field performance to meet Completion Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Responsible for managing the well work schedule for the field, coordination of material and equipment and serving as a primary interface between engineering and operations. Accountable for well handover/hand back with other operations groups such as drilling and production.

Provide input and suggestions on service contracts to enable high performance. Manage contractor services in the field in line with the contracting strategy and the goals of the contract management team. Serve as a focal point for HSSE management with the contractors and the evaluation of service quality. Lead discussions with contractors regarding performance, future plans, and deviations needed.

Responsible for championing operational performance improvement initiatives throughout the well delivery process. Support the implementation of new technologies as part of the performance improvement process. Lead the supervisory team in implementation of opportunities to optimize operations.

Responsible for maintaining communication and leading by example in ensuring integration with the Asset Team and support departments.

Dimensions

Anticipated +/-2 drilling units operating drilling and completing +/- 10 Exploration, Appraisal and Development Wells per year, +Intervention work as needed.

Anticipated for 15/13 days on and off rotation and with occasional office visits.

What we need from You

8 + years direct experience in Completion and Intervention work

Shell Round 2 Certification/Diploma preferred

IWCF Completion and Intervention Well Control Certification Level 4 Supervision and Advanced Well Control Training completed and up to date

A degree level (Business/Engineering) and proven long term comprehensive experience in Completion Engineering Operations

Driven, motivated & passionate to drive positive change in constructive manner

Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing & stakeholder management skills

Passionate about developing people

Continuous improvement and simplification mindset, and knowledge of Agile ways of working

Proven HSE and WPS Leadership and associated performance improvement

Proven track record of execution excellence, delivering results and continuous improvement in completion operations including experience in:-

HPHT, Hard Rock, Tight Gas, Horizontal well design and operations

Multi well pad batch and concurrent CWI and hydraulic fracturing operations

Completion and Intervention Engineering skills including but not limited to:

Completion design, planning and execution

Intervention design, planning and execution

Completion/Intervention Fluid design, planning and execution

Hydraulic Fracturing design, planning and execution

Well Testing design, planning and execution

Abandonment design, planning and execution

Well Control Equipment and Execute Well Control Operations

Selection of Completion, Well Intervention Hydraulic Fracturing Units and Equipment
