Our client is a leading multinational communications agency, seeking to expand their expand their sports arm with a new Communications Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to enhance the brand image and reputation of the sports division in the Middle East region. You will be based in Dubai and will be required to travel to Saudi Arabia on occasion.
About the Role
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the overall business objectives and enhance the visibility of their sports division
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify key messages, target audiences, and communication channels to effectively convey the division\'s achievements, initiatives, and events
Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations, managing all media inquiries, and proactively cultivating relationships with journalists, influencers, and key industry stakeholders
Oversee the creation and dissemination of press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to ensure consistent messaging and branding across various platforms
Develop and manage content for internal and external communications, including websites, newsletters, social media channels, and other digital platforms
Plan and execute high-profile events, press conferences, and product launches to generate media coverage and maximize exposure for the sports division
Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and competitive activities to provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure communication initiatives are aligned and integrated across the organization
Support crisis communication efforts by developing response plans, coordinating messaging, and serving as a spokesperson when necessary
Manage a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables
About the Candidate
Bachelor\'s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in communications, with a focus on sports or related industries
Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies and campaigns, preferably within a multinational organization
Strong understanding of the sports industry, including current trends, key players, and media landscape
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences and platforms
Demonstrated experience in media relations, including building relationships with journalists and securing media coverage
Proficiency in digital communications and social media platforms, with a deep understanding of emerging trends and best practices
Experience in managing high-profile events and press conferences, including logistics, media invites, and on-site coordination
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of professionals
