Charterhouse is working with an International Commodity Trading company who operate across EMEA and APAC. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Agriculture, Vegetable Oil and Grain Crop Trader into their newly established satellite office in Dubai. This role will give the candidate full autonomy to build out an agricultural trading desk, therefore, an extensive network of clients and contacts across the EMEA and APAC regions is essential.

About the role
The Commodities Trader will develop and sustain a profitable trading desk whilst integrating current Agricultural, Vegetable Oil and Grain Crop clients, coordinating bids/offers and trades with Logistics / Operations providers to ensure transparent and efficient trading processes. Working closely with the international business development team, you will identify potential new customer offerings and trade structures.

You will run an active trading book and manage daily trading P&L of the Agricultural, Vegetable Oil and Grain Crops trading book through active management of physical inventory and hedging tools.

In conjunction, you will also develop new business opportunities with potential suppliers and customers, sourcing and selling opportunities to the local and regional markets. Additionally, you will look to develop and implement trading strategies of term contracts, managing risk and performance, in line with the group\xe2\x80\x99s guidelines.

About you
To be considered for this role, you should have a demonstrable track record of developing and executing trading strategies within the Agricultural, Grain or Oil and Fat products markets across the international geographies. You will have exceptional knowledge of the global marketplace, including the GCC, Africa and Asia. Additionally, you will have experience with regulatory documentation from the GAFTA / FOSFA associations.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Supply Chain, Economics or Finance from an internationally recognized University and will be available to work in Dubai on a full-time permanent basis.
