Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for assigned pastry kitchen section during daily operations
  • Prepare high-quality pastry and bakery products in line with established standards
  • Follow instructions and daily task assignments from the Executive Sous Chef
  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and freshness of all pastry items
  • Support buffet setups and special functions as required
  • Assist in leading junior team members during food preparation tasks
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections on daily requirements and event needs
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards within the kitchen
  • Monitor wastage, food cost control, and proper use of ingredients and equipment
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
Ideal Profile
  • One to two years of experience in a similar Commis role within a five-star city hotel in Dubai
  • Strong understanding of pastry kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene practices
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Proven awareness of cost control including food, equipment, labor, and waste
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
