Job Title: Commis II - Turkish Cuisine
Department: Kitchen / Culinary
Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef - Turkish Restaurant
Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis II Chef specializing in Turkish Cuisine to join our culinary team. You will assist in the preparation of authentic Turkish dishes, maintaining the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef in the daily preparation, cooking, and presentation of Turkish dishes.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and marinating as instructed.
• Learn and adhere to traditional and modern Turkish cooking techniques and recipes.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items (FIFO).
• Support other sections of the kitchen as required by the Chef de Partie.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and plated according to the restaurant's specifications and standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Culinary school diploma or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with specific experience in Turkish cuisine.
• Basic understanding of Turkish ingredients, flavors, and cooking methods (e.g., grilling, meze preparation, kebabs, pastries).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong passion for Turkish cuisine and a desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety (HACCP) standards.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy kitchen equipment.
