Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory for daily operations
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely food preparation
Support senior chefs in menu planning and food presentation
Participate in daily kitchen briefings and team meetings
Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of ingredients
Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items as directed
Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs
Qualifications
Basic culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent communication skills in English
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Basic computer skills for using kitchen management systems
Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
