The Commis I is an entry-level culinary position responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of food items under the supervision of senior kitchen staff. This role provides an opportunity to learn and develop culinary skills in a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to set standards and recipes.
Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.
Follow safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in work stations.
Learn and adhere to the restaurant's or hotel's standards of quality, presentation, and sanitation.
Assist with inventory checks and storage of ingredients.
Participate in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation.
Passion for cooking and eagerness to learn.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and cleanliness.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not mandatory.
