Wakame is a highly regarded fine dining restaurant located in Sofitel Dubai Downtown. Taking inspiration from Tokia\xe2\x80\x99s Ginza district to the foodie capital of Chengdu and from the mountains of Nepal to the street food of Colombo, Wakame\xe2\x80\x99s flavors span the far east. We are looking for an experienced Dim sum Chef (Commis 1 / 2) who is ready to join our team to showcase their creativity, innovation and passion towards the culinary arts. Responsibilities:
Prepare all relevant items as required by the business
Create new and exciting items to renew our menus
Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
Work closely with management on the menu
Maintain up to date knowledge about dim sum arts and ingredients
Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
Monitor stocks for ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget
Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements:
Proven experience as Dim sum Chef
Great attention to detail and creativity
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
Working knowledge of specific ingredient limitations
Certificate in culinary arts or relevant field
Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when necessary
Japanese Restaurant experience will be an advantage
