We are looking for a motivated and aspiring Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The Commis Chef will work closely with our experienced chefs to gain hands-on experience in various kitchen stations. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about the culinary arts and eager to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Learn and execute basic cooking techniques to contribute to the production of high-quality dishes.
2. Station Support:
- Work alongside Chef de Partie and other team members to ensure smooth operation of kitchen stations.
- Follow instructions and guidelines provided by senior chefs to maintain consistency in dish preparation.
3. Kitchen Organization:
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked with ingredients and tools.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
4. Learning and Development:
- Actively engage in training opportunities provided by senior chefs to enhance culinary skills.
- Seek feedback and use it constructively to improve performance and skills.
5. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Support senior chefs during peak service times and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.
6. Quality Control:
- Pay attention to detail in food presentation and assist in quality control checks.
- Learn to identify and address issues related to food quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
- Culinary school education or equivalent culinary training is a plus.
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Enthusiastic attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for the culinary arts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills and a team player mentality.
- Adherence to health and safety standards in a kitchen setting.
