Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Commis Chef with a passion for Chinese cuisine and hands-on experience using the wok. The ideal candidate will support senior chefs in preparing authentic Chinese dishes and developing skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing and cooking dishes with a focus on Chinese wok methods such as stir-frying, deep-frying, and flash-cooking Support the kitchen team in daily operations including prep work, cleaning, and station setup Ensure food is cooked and presented according to kitchen standards and recipes Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times Learn and apply proper use of wok equipment and cooking temperatures Follow instructions from senior chefs and contribute to a smooth and efficient kitchen service Properly store and handle all food products and ingredients Assist with stock rotation and labeling
Qualifications:

1+ year of kitchen experience, preferably in a Chinese or Asian cuisine setting Basic understanding of wok techniques and Chinese cooking styles Willingness to learn and work as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and in a high-heat kitchen environment Strong work ethic and attention to detail Food safety and hygiene knowledge (certification is a plus) Culinary training or relevant coursework is an advantage
Working Conditions:

Busy, high-energy kitchen environment Standing for extended periods, exposure to heat and flames Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required
Salary will be discussed upon interview and trial.
