We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our fast-growing specialized bakery team at Pekoe Tea & Bread Bar in Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE to support our retail, dine-in, catering and wholesale operations. Ideal candidate would have worked for 1-2 years as a Commis Chef and has attitude to learn and grow within a growing brand. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: We are looking for Commis Chef with hot kitchen experience.
- Responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities
- Support the Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operation and work
- Work according to the menu specifications by the Head Chef
- Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set
- Control food stock and food cost in his section
- Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production
- Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
- Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques
- Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control
- Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors
- Continually develops culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals
- Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings
- Washes, chops, and cuts fruit, meat, and vegetable items
- Assesses inventory and requests resupply when necessary
- Plates meal items under the Demi chef de partie\xe2\x80\x99s supervision
- Disposes of spoiled items and adheres to sanitation policies
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred
- 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role
- Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations
- Able to work holidays and weekends
- Understandable level of English spoken and written
