Job Summary:

The Commis plays a key role in preparing high-quality, nutritious, and wellness-focused dishes in line with the resort's health and wellbeing standards. The role involves supporting daily kitchen operations, ensuring accurate food preparation using fresh and healthy ingredients, and maintaining strict hygiene and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook dishes according to wellness-focused recipes, dietary guidelines, and portion standards. Assist the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section, ensuring smooth operations at all times. Support the creation of healthy menus including vegan, gluten-free, low-calorie, and detox options. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, organic (where applicable), and properly stored. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation following food safety and HACCP practices. Ensure mise-en-place is completed efficiently before each service period. Follow portion control to maintain nutritional accuracy and minimize food wastage. Assist with receiving and proper storage of fresh produce and wellness ingredients. Report any kitchen equipment issues immediately to the Chef de Partie. Promote a positive and collaborative team environment, aligned with the resort's wellbeing culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience as Commis I or strong experience as Commis II, preferably in a wellness, health-focused, or luxury resort environment. Knowledge of healthy cooking techniques (steaming, grilling, low-fat cooking, plant-based preparation, etc.). Understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional considerations (vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, etc.). Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards. Basic understanding of HACCP, food hygiene, and safety standards.
