Are you on a Foray in search of a new Revier and want to experience something great? We are always on the hunt for curious and smart foxes such as you! The Role in a nutshell... The Commis 1 work directly with the core leadership team in Culinary, rotating through various sections. From food preparation tasks to cooking under the direct supervision of Sous Chefs, the Commis Chef wow the guests through appealing and appetizing dishes. The typical day in a Commis life is to ensure highest standards of hygiene, measure dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately, deal with deliveries and stock rotation. Some of your essential responsibilities. . .

  • Take pride in the food prepared for guests, adhere to thoughtfully created recipes, presentation standards and guest preferences.
  • Work in an organized fashion with the utmost respect for ingredients, equipment and workspace.
  • Possess a basic understanding of culinary skills, striving to learn more ways to improve skills and cooking techniques.
  • Observe conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the culinary operation. Report anything substandard to the senior team and/or engineering department for corrections and improvements.
  • Greet every guest with a gracious smile, a positive attitude and ensure that guests feel engaged.
  • Follow the intuition to anticipate each guest's likes or dislikes to add a personalized touch that creates a special memory.
  • Ensure guest privacy and security i.e. any confidential guest information is not disclosed.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time to meet high volume business.
  • Seize any opportunity to go beyond the expectations of the position to assist with a guest's needs, help a co-worker and fulfill a reasonable request by a manager.
  • Aware and comply with all 'statutory' trainings, protocols and operational procedures mandated by UAE Government
What you bring . . .
  • A cheerful personality that is passionate about great food, creativity and people.
  • Diploma or equivalent required in Hotel & Restaurant Management or Culinary Arts.
  • Minimum 2-years' experience working in hotel or restaurant kitchen in a range of cuisines.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of menu, food safety guidelines and hygiene requirements.
  • Conversational fluency in English.
  • Able to withstand temperature variations for prolonged periods while utilizing ovens, stoves, or fryers.
  • Flexible to work in varying shifts that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Experience:
  • Commis 1 in 4 or 5 star hotel: 2 years (Required)
