We are looking for a dedicated and skilled

Commis 1

to join the culinary team of a prestigious French cafe in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have a passion for French cuisine, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, fine-dining kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes with consistency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety. Ensure all mise en place is completed before service begins. Follow recipes and presentation standards as directed by the senior kitchen team. Work efficiently in designated sections such as cold kitchen, hot kitchen, or pastry. Properly store food items and monitor stock levels, reporting any shortages. Comply with all health and safety regulations and HACCP guidelines. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Maintain kitchen equipment and workstations in excellent condition.

Requirements:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Commis 1 or similar role in a high-end or fine-dining restaurant (French cuisine experience preferred). Culinary diploma or professional kitchen training. Strong understanding of kitchen operations and basic cooking techniques. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:

Previous experience in luxury hotels, five-star restaurants, or French cafes. Basic knowledge of French dishes, sauces, and pastries. Familiarity with HACCP and other food safety standards.
