The Dessert Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods under the supervision of the Pastry Chef. This role involves supporting the pastry team to ensure the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in the dessert section.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing, baking, and finishing desserts, pastries, and other sweet items according to recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and tools.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies to ensure a hygienic work environment.
Help with inventory management, including receiving and storage of ingredients.
Support the pastry team in executing daily production schedules.
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of desserts.
Learn and adhere to the hotel/restaurant's standards and procedures.
Assist in customizing desserts for special events or dietary requirements as needed.
Maintain a professional attitude and teamwork spirit within the kitchen.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a pastry or bakery environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Good communication skills and a team player.
Culinary diploma or relevant certification is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand for long periods.
Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Work in a hot and humid environment typical of kitchen settings.

Pay: AED2,300.00 - AED2,800.00 per month
