The Commis I (Arabic Speaker) supports the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service while maintaining high culinary standards. The role requires a solid culinary background, adherence to hygiene standards, and the ability to communicate effectively in
Arabic
to support kitchen coordination and guest requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to hotel standards
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations
Ensure food quality, portion control, and consistency at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards strictly
Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies
Minimize food wastage and support cost control initiatives
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service team, particularly in Arabic when required
Comply with health, safety, and hotel policies
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
Minimum
1-2 years of experience
in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant
Ability to speak
Arabic
(mandatory); English is an advantage
Knowledge of Middle Eastern cuisine is preferred
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
