Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook Japanese dishes, with a strong focus on ramen (broth, tare, noodles, toppings).
Maintain high standards of
taste, consistency, and presentation
.
Follow recipes and directions from the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
Carry out
mise en place
: slicing, chopping, marinating, portioning.
Ensure strict compliance with
food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
.
Monitor stock levels and promptly inform the Head Chef of shortages.
Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen deliveries.
Keep workstations clean, organized, and efficient.
Rotate across different stations and support the team during service as needed.
Requirements
Proven experience in Japanese cuisine, with a focus on ramen, in a professional kitchen.
Strong knowledge of ramen components (broth, tare, noodles, toppings) and Japanese culinary techniques.
Ability to thrive under pressure in a
high-volume environment
.
Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent training is a plus.
Immediate availability is highly preferred.
