Job Title: Commis Chef - Brunch

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team, specializing in brunch service. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and contribute to creating high-quality brunch dishes. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking:

- Assist in the preparation of brunch dishes (e.g., eggs Benedict, pancakes, avocado toast, salads, sandwiches).

- Follow recipes and plating guidelines.

- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently.

- Operate kitchen equipment (grills, toasters, blenders, etc.) safely and efficiently.

- Assist in mise en place (chopping, marinating, prepping sauces, etc.) before service.

Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.

- Follow food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP).

- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.

- Dispose of waste as per kitchen protocols.

Teamwork & Communication:

- Work closely with other commi chefs and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

- Communicate any shortages or issues promptly to the shop manager.

- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.

Requirements & Skills:

- Experience: Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant (brunch/cafe experience preferred).

- Culinary Knowledge: Basic understanding of brunch cuisine, egg cookery, and breakfast items.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and work in a fast-paced environment.

- Team Player: Cooperative attitude and willingness to learn.

- Flexibility: Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

- Certification: Food hygiene/safety certification is a plus.
